Back-To-School Dental Essentials

Summer is almost over and it’s time for everyone to get back into their regular routine. This starts with scheduling regular dental check-ups and addressing any restorative needs. A common issue at the beginning of a new school year is the need for treatment, which can be challenging to fit into busy school schedules.

Our practice does have some appointments available before school starts, and parents can easily schedule visits for their children. Give us a call to get on our calendar! For those who need appointments after the school year begins, we provide excused absence notes to accommodate school commitments.

On top of sticking to a routine, it’s also important to eat healthy food for lunches and snacks. This is why we always recommend packing your child’s lunches and snacks. If packed lunches and snacks aren’t an option, that’s okay. Your child can still maintain a healthy smile by cleaning off any excess food after they eat. For students with braces, avoiding sticky and crunchy foods is crucial to prevent damage. And for those wearing retainers to school, it’s important to put them in their case while eating and remember to put them back on afterwards to maintain their effectiveness.

By following these simple guidelines, students can ensure their oral health remains a top priority throughout the school year.
